Celebrating Student Impact at IU Bloomington
Each month, the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (UE) honors one outstanding undergraduate student who exemplifies the values of engagement, leadership, and learning through meaningful contributions to Indiana University Bloomington or the broader community.
The UE Student of the Month award shines a light on students whose stories inspire others, whether through service, innovation, research, or perseverance.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking stories that show how IU students are making a difference. Nominations should highlight how the nominee has:
Led or contributed to student organizations, projects, or initiatives
Served others or enhanced the success and well-being of their peers
Taken on innovative or courageous experiential learning opportunities (research, internships, community engagement, creative work, etc.)
Overcome challenges that led to personal growth or community impact
We value impact over titles—students don’t need to hold formal leadership positions to be recognized.

How to Nominate
Nominations are open to students, faculty, and staff. Self-nominations are welcome!
Before submitting, please ensure the nominee:
Is an undergraduate student in good academic standing
Has agreed to be considered for this recognition
Recognition
Selected students will be:
Featured on the UE website and social media
Highlighted in a UE news article each semester featuring that term’s Student of the Month recipients
Presented with a certificate of recognition
Please note that nominations are accepted on a rolling basis and are good for 6 months. Nominees may be selected for any month during that 6 month time frame.
