Intensive First-Year Seminars

Intensive First-Year Seminars offer students a chance to take one of their Fall courses in the weeks leading up to welcome week. The courses and extracurricular activities are designed to engage students in immersive topics and introduce them to new friends and to IU Bloomington.

IU Credits in high school classrooms

ACP & OPEN

The Advance College Project and OPEN allow students to earn IU credit during their Junior and Senior years of high school, either in their normal classrooms (ACP) or by coming on campus to participate in IU classes (OPEN).

New Student Orientation

UD, BEST, & OVPUE IT

Each year, University Division helps incoming students find the right major and register for classes during NSO. BEST and OVPUE IT collaborate to offer placement testing for foreign languages, math, science, and academic English.

IU2U

IU2U works to make the transition to IU Bloomington easier for international students, as well as supporting IU2U participants throughout their time at IU

IU High School

IUHS provides a strong high school experience to students through its IU-designed online courses, and is expanding to offer special programs for students planning to attend IU

Project STEM

Project STEM is a program for high school girls interested in STEM to experience research first-hand at IU Bloomington

This annual fair brings information about academic programs and co-curriculars to hundreds of new and exploratory students
